Emily White
Intern
Emily White, an intern from the University of Maryland School of Social Work, provides in-person and telehealth sessions at our Laurel office. She is supervised by Denaysha Bowen, LCSW-C.
Emily's goal is to empower individuals to achieve a sense of calm, resilience, and centeredness when navigating life's challenges. She offers a safe and supportive environment for vulnerability, bravery, and contemplation.
Utilizing a strengths-based, person-centered approach, Emily is guided by humanistic theory and Motivational Interviewing principles to address the unique needs of each individual. She works with children, adolescents, and adults facing various challenges, including ADHD, anxiety, chronic pain, depression, grief, LGBTQ+ concerns, life transitions, spirituality-related concerns, and trauma.
Outside of her professional and academic responsibilities Emily enjoys yoga, hiking, painting, reading, taking care of her plants, and spending time outside.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a minor in Family Studies from Towson University
Currently pursuing Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore
