Jessie Lawson, LMSW, believes that therapy is a collaborative journey where clients are the experts of their own lives. She is dedicated to fostering a warm, nurturing, and non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences and perspectives. Her primary goal is to empower clients to heal from stressful experiences and work towards their unique goals. With 5 years of experience, Jessie has worked in various settings, including an Emergency COVID-19 field hospital, foster care and adoption, a state's attorney's office, and in research and legislative advocacy.
Jessie offers in-person therapy services within Anne Arundel Co. Public Schools, alongside telehealth options for children, adolescents, and adults. Her expertise covers a broad spectrum of concerns including ADHD, anger management, anxiety, body image issues, depression, disordered eating, family related concerns, Challenges for the LGBTQ+ Community, life transitions, stress management, and trauma. Jessie employs an integrative approach, drawing from various therapeutic modalities such as motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, play therapy, psychodynamic theory, social skills training, Trauma-Focused CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Behavioral Therapy (BT).
Jessie is also one of our Lead Clinicians for the school-based team. In this capacity, she is instrumental in fostering the growth and development of our staff. Jessie provides ongoing support to our school-based clinicians, offering guidance, mentorship, and expertise to help them be successful.
Outside of work, Jessie enjoys yoga, dancing, painting, traveling, and gardening.
