Aaraa Brown, LMSW, brings a rich background in both education and clinical mental health to her practice. Starting her career as an elementary school teacher, she transitioned to therapy, gaining experience in diverse settings including schools and private practice. Throughout her career, Aaraa has been deeply committed to serving marginalized communities, offering individual and family therapy for a wide range of challenges such as substance use, complex childhood trauma, and relational issues affecting children, families, and couples. She currently provides in-person therapy services to students in Prince George's County Public Schools.


Known for her warmth, genuine authenticity, and collaborative approach, Aaraa's practice is founded on cultivating affirming and culturally responsive environments. She strives to create spaces where clients feel secure and supported, enabling them to openly and courageously explore their personal narratives. This process empowers clients to rediscover their voices, embark on healing journeys, and achieve meaningful personal growth and transformation.


Aaraa utilizes evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and play therapy. She also specializes in inner child work, guiding clients in understanding and healing early life emotional wounds. Aaraa is equipped to assist individuals with diverse challenges, including family concerns, ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, racial trauma, and LGBTQ+ issues.


Outside of her professional life, Aaraa enjoys traveling, listening to music, and spending time with her family.
