Evelyn Mitchell

Evelyn Mitchell, LCPC, brings nearly a decade of experience in mental health to her practice. She creates a supportive and confidential environment where individuals and families can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, fostering insight, resilience, and personal growth. Evelyn is committed to a collaborative treatment approach, actively engaging clients in their healing journey and integrating their unique values and cultural backgrounds.  Her diverse experience spans community programs, school-based initiatives, and tele-behavioral health. Evelyn particularly enjoys working with children, utilizing play and creative interventions to facilitate their therapeutic process, and she has specialized training in play therapy.

Evelyn offers in-person services to children in Anne Arundel County Public Schools and provides telehealth sessions. She commonly addresses concerns such as family-related concerns, ADHD, anger management, anxiety, communication difficulties, depression, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, spirituality, stress management, and trauma. Evelyn employs an integrative, client-centered, strengths-based approach, incorporating techniques from play therapy, social skills training, and Trauma-Focused CBT.

Additionally, Evelyn is an approved Maryland Board of Professional Counselors Supervisor.

Outside of work, Evelyn enjoys spending time with her family and trying new things, including food, dancing, and exercise.
