Kaitlin Thurston

Kaitlin Thurston, LMSW, is a committed school-based clinician with three years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and their families. She currently provides in-person services within Anne Arundel County Public Schools, having previously worked in elementary and middle schools and in home autism support.

Kaitlin's therapeutic approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and person-centered. She partners with clients to empower them with practical tools and emotional insight, fostering resilience, growth, and healthy development during the pivotal stages of childhood and adolescence. Understanding the distinct developmental stages and challenges of these periods, Kaitlin tailors interventions to help young individuals build a strong foundation for future well-being. Through a supportive and empathetic environment, she helps children and adolescents develop the emotional fortitude and adaptive skills needed to thrive.

Kaitlin addresses a broad spectrum of concerns common among today's youth, including ADHD, anger management, anxiety, family concerns, grief, panic disorders, self-esteem , and stress management. She integrates various therapeutic modalities into her practice, such as play therapy, social skills training, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Outside of work, Kaitlin enjoys playing video games, reading, watching reality TV, and spending time with her husband and kids.
