Therapist

Maryanne Boyle, LCSW-C, brings 25 years of experience as a social worker, with a diverse background spanning foster care, adoptions, hospitals, special education, substance abuse treatment, and addressing issues of abuse and domestic violence, as well as private practice.  Maryanne currently offers  in-person services to students in Anne Arundel County Public Schools.

Maryanne’s therapeutic approach is highly individualized, rejecting a "one-size-fits-all" method. She integrates diverse, evidence-based modalities and techniques, carefully tailoring interventions to each client's specific needs, personality, and therapeutic goals. This personalized methodology ensures relevant and impactful support, facilitating meaningful progress and lasting positive change.

She  utilizes a strength-based, client-centered, and often uses an integrative approach, drawing from various techniques. These include Internal Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, narrative therapy, play therapy, social skills training, trauma-focused CBT, and mindfulness. Maryanne is comfortable addressing a wide array of concerns such as family challenges, addiction, ADHD, anger management, anxiety, bipolar disorder, blended families, body image, borderline personality disorder, communication issues, depression, disordered eating, domestic violence, concerns specific to first responders/law enforcement, grief, life transitions, panic disorders, parenting & co-parenting, personality disorders, self-esteem, spirituality, stress management, and trauma.

Maryanne understands that beginning therapy can feel overwhelming. Her primary objective is to cultivate a serene, non-judgmental, and profoundly accepting environment where clients immediately feel secure and understood. She engages with each individual at their current stage, acknowledging the unique nature of every personal journey. With genuine empathy and steadfast support, Maryanne navigates clients through their immediate challenges, serving as a stable and compassionate anchor. She assists them in exploring difficulties, processing emotions, and developing effective coping mechanisms. Beyond current concerns, she empowers clients to identify and pursue their future aspirations, fostering personal growth, resilience, and a deeper sense of purpose.

In her free time, Maryanne enjoys traveling, photography, spending time in nature, family time, and anything animal-related.
